In the summer, DOOR groups stay
at Central Presbyterian Church in
downtown Atlanta.
Entrance for DOOR groups on
Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

Groups stay in the gym space. Mats will be provided. Girls are on one side and guys on the other side. We also cook and eat our meals in this space. We can accommodate 60 people per week in the summer.
Showers – There are five showers in the gym we stay in. Each shower has it’s own stall and shower curtain.

Bathrooms – There are 3 sinks and three bathrooms in the gym space.

The gym we use for our summer program is the same space that houses 60 homeless men during the winter. This shelter is one of the most popular shelters in the city because of its commitment to hospitality and safety. Although it may not be as luxurious as our home, it is helpful to remember that your group will experience what it is like to stay in a space that is home to many homeless individuals. Although you may only be here for a week, these men call this space home for up to 5 months and are grateful for a warm, dry, safe space to sleep and the community that forms around it to provide them support as they try to move to a more stable environment.
