Position Opening: DOOR Los Angeles Interim City Director
(January – July 31 2019)
DOOR is a gateway for encountering the city through the eyes, ears, and heart of God. We are dedicated to providing life-changing experiences for our participants rooted in relationship and solidarity with local communities and neighborhoods. All of our programming grows out of a commitment to mutual respect and thoughtful reflection, with a particular effort to emphasize issues of injustice and praying to discern what Jesus might be asking of us today.
The DOOR Los Angeles Interim City Director (January-July 31, 2018) will provide leadership for the Dwell program needs of DOOR Los Angles during the Spring and Summer of 2019. This is a part-time (20 hours per week), time sensitive contract that will not extend beyond July 31, 2019.
Supervise and provide leadership for Yearlong volunteers
Develop and lead programing for Dwell, community days, one on ones.
Manage Dwell program, groceries, and public transportation monies
Internship site visits and contact with site supervisors
Money management and reporting
Be the point of contact for interested Discover, Discern, and Dwell inquiries
Develop and maintain a strong personal relationship with the leadership at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood
Help provide programming two days a week for local neighborhood youth and young adults in conjunction with the board as needed (days and times to be determined)
Report regularly to the Executive Director and the local Board
Attend all scheduled local DOOR Board meetings
Submit weekly reports to the DOOR Network email list
Compensation and Benefits:
The dates of employment are January-July 31, 2019
Pay is at the rate of $2,000.00 per month for part-time 20 hrs work week
